Clinical observation of a patient with bowel endometriosis
Background. Endometriosis is a hormone-dependent disease of reproductive-aged women (postmenopausal women accounted for about 5%), in which endometrial cells grow outside of the inner layer of the uterine wall, including extragenitally (intestine, mesentery, omentum, bladder, umbilicus, inguinal canal, lung, and postoperative scars of the limbs and other parts of the body. The intestine is affected by endometriosis secondarily, as a result of the expansion of the process from the ovaries, a retrocervical focus, or the isthmus of the uterus to the bowel wall.Padrul M.M., Olina A.A., Sadykova G.K.
A case report. The paper describes a clinical case of bowel endometriosis. The lack of timely postoperative drug therapy has led to a recurrence of ovarian endometriosis and the spread of the process to the adjacent organs.
Conclusion. Since 2011 the patient has been taking dienogest in a continuous mode (visanne); no unwanted side effects have been recorded. Control ultrasound (November 2016) revealed no recurrence of the disease.
