Rationale. Managing pregnancy complicated by cancer remains of high relevance. Analysis of case studies on pregnant women with tumors of various localizations is of great importance.
Case report. A 34-year-old female patient underwent a renal ultrasound in the second trimester of pregnancy, which revealed a retroperitoneal extraorgan mass by the right renal hilum and the L2–L3 vertebrae. The pregnancy progressed withoutt any complications, and the patient delivered vaginally at term. Postpartum, a contrast-enhanced CT scan was performed. The tumor was removed laparoscopically, and histological and immunohistochemical examination revealed a schwannoma.
Conclusion. The case report on retroperitoneal schwannoma detected during pregnancy deserves attention due to the rarity of the pathology, the complexity of diagnosis and management.
