Radiofrequency microneedling is a modern minimally invasive technique that targets on the stimulation of the connective tissue regeneration.  In the context of postpartum rehabilitation, of greatest interest is the Morpheus V system, which, by combining fractional microneedling with controlled delivery of radiofrequency (RF) energy, induces neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis in pelvic floor structures. This mechanism is considered as the main one for strengthening the weakened fasciae and ligaments after labor.
The aim of this systematic review is to critically analyze current scientific data on the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency microneedling for the prevention of progressing stage I pelvic organ prolapse (POP-Q) and correction of mild stress urinary incontinence in the postpartum period.
The review analyzes the effect of the method on the histological structure and biomechanics of pelvic floor tissues, generalizes the use of the clinical protocols, and also formulates the prospects for further research in early pathogenically-based rehabilitation after childbirth.
Conclusion: Radiofrequency microneedling can be considered not as experimental, but as evidence-based technique in the arsenal of postpartum rehabilitation. For women with diagnosed stage I pelvic organ prolapse (POP-Q) and symptoms of stress urinary incontinence within the first 6–12 months after childbirth, this method can be an effective secondary prevention strategy for strengthening the connective tissue and preventing concomitant dysfunctions.
