To the jubilee of Academician L.V. Adamyan

165-1.jpg (30 KB)Leyla Vagoyevna Adamyan has dedicated over 50 years to the healthcare industry and is renowned as one of the leading obstetrician-gynecologists in the country. She has played a pivotal role in advancing minimally invasive surgery in gynecology in Russia, contributing to the organization and implementation of high-tech medical care in obstetrics and gynecology as well as developing modern surgical methods for correcting pelvic organ pathology. Dr. Adamyan's extensive scientific research has significantly influenced medical science globally by introducing innovative approaches to diagnosing and treating gynecologic diseases.

Under her guidance, 72 candidate and 28 doctoral dissertations were completed, and she established a distinguished scientific and clinical school for obstetrician-gynecologists. Her students hold prominent positions in medical universities, institutions, and clinical departments across Russia and abroad, and her school has been repeatedly recognized as the leading scientific institution by receiving a Grant of the President of the Russian Federation.

Dr. Adamyan's scientific and practical interests encompass all aspects of reproductive health from embryogenesis to postmenopause, with her research making substantial contributions to the understanding of pathological processes in human reproductive organs. Her prolific scientific work is evidenced by over 2500 publications in domestic and foreign journals, including 30 monographs, manuals, and atlases. Additionally, she holds 48 copyright certificates for inventions in the field of gynecology and has been honored by the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation for advancing endoscopic techniques in gynecology.

Through her educational and pedagogical efforts, advanced medical technologies have been widely disseminated throughout Russia. Dr. Adamyan actively trains students, residents, and on-the-job doctors, and conducts advanced training courses and telemedicine sessions for gynecologists from various regions of the country.

L.V. Adamyan is a non-staff chief specialist in gynecology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Beyond her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Adamyan holds prestigious positions as the President of the Society of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, the Russian Association of Endometriosis, and the Russian Association of Gynecologic Endoscopists. Under her leadership, these organizations organized numerous international congresses on high-tech medical care in gynecology and reproductive medicine, attracting thousands of participants and international experts.

Internationally, Academician Adamyan represents the achievements of Russian medical science and practice in the field of reproductive medicine, holding esteemed positions in various international societies, including the International and European Societies of Gynecologic Endoscopy, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the International Academy of Reproductive Medicine, and the International Society of Pelvic Surgeons. She has also been elected as a Honorary Member of the AAGL and ACOG.

As the Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Problems of Reproduction" and a member of several editorial boards, including "Obstetrics and Gynecology", ”Issues of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology", and international journals such as "Gynecological Endoscopy”, "Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology”, and "International Journal of Fertility & Women's Medicine”, Academician Adamyan actively contributes to disseminating the latest knowledge in the field of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive medicine.
